Nigeria has lost a distinguished figure with the passing of Major-General Aderonke Kale (Rtd) at the age of 84. The news of her demise was confirmed by E. O. Okafor, President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), who expressed the profound nature of the loss, emphasizing her groundbreaking contributions to medical and military history in the country. Major-General Aderonke Kale, a medical doctor trained at the University of Ibadan, specialized in psychiatry at the University of London. Her decision to pursue psychiatry was influenced by Thomas Adeoye Lambo, Africa’s inaugural professor of psychiatry.
